Happy Birthday US Marines! 233 years of dedicated and faithful service to God, Country,
and Corps!

SEMPER FIDELIS

Flying Leathernecks Decals is also celebrating its One year birthday as well, and it is no
coincidence we launched the new line on the Marine Corps birthday last year.

To celebrate, all products in stock with the exception of FL48022 will be 50% off until
midnight tonight. Prices will automatically be reduced when you place them in your
shopping cart.

All orders for FL48022 placed on the 10th will include a 50% off coupon that can be used for
any Orion Scale Models / Flying Leathernecks Decals product at any time in the future.

In decal news, FL48022 was shipped on Friday from Italy and according to the UPS tracking
info, will be delivered this afternoon. With Tuesday being a holiday, all existing orders will
start going out Wednesday and be completed by Saturday.

Again, to all my fellow Marines, Happy Birthday Devil Dogs!

IMPORTANT NEWS Regarding sheet FL48022!

Dear customers, it is with regret that we inform you of a price increase for sheet FL48022.
Due to higher than expected print costs, it is absolutely necessary that we raise the price
of the sheet to $25.00.

We wanted to retail the sheet for $22.00 to keep it in line with the sheet number and
squadron covered (we also calculated a lower print cost based on previous sheets).
However, the size of the sheet dictated a higher print fee.

We will ensure this never happens again and apologize for having to increase the price.
While we understand raising the price may not be economically feasible for some of our
customers to purchase it, keeping it at the $22.00 price would be economically unfeasible
and could potentially be a total loss for us.

We hope you understand.

We will however make this one limited time offer. We will leave the $22.00 shopping cart
link open until Thursday night at midnight. At this time, the link will be changed to $25.00.

Thank you,

Dave and the Flying Leathernecks Crew

Pre-order link is now open for FL48022. Click
here to order. All paid pre-orders ship
immediately upon the sheets arrival from Cartograf.

Also, we have been seriously considering releasing this sheet in 1/72 scale for the new
Academy kit. Now that they have officially announced an F/A-18A is coming, all of the
options on this sheet can be built using their kits.

The layout of the sheet is virtually identical to the 1/48 sheet. The differences are it is on a
5.75 x 8.5 sheet and includes a third set of stencils and two extra sets of fuel tank
markings (WEREWOLVES). The retail of the sheet would be $15.00.

Click
here to see an image of the 1/72 sheet. If you would be interested in having this
sheet in 1/72 scale, please send us an email to the following address:

orionmodels@aol.com

If the interest is there, we'll send it to print! So, if you're a 72nd scale modeler and want
these particular markings, let us know!

Thank you,

Dave and the Flying Leathernecks Crew

Well, time for another update. Our next release,
FL48006 had a small hiccup and got
pushed back by a week. The initial sheet was going to be 8.5 inches by 11 inches, have
options for 12 aircraft with full stencils for 4 aircraft. The printing cost was simply going
to be too much, so we knocked it back down to a standard 5.5 x 8.5 sheet with 7 options
from three squadrons. A separate stencil sheet will be included and will have enough
stencils to complete three airframes. A CD will also be included and will feature all
instructions in .PDF format, as well as high resolution walk around photos of the VMA-542
and VMAT-203 options and general detail photos of the Harrier.

Included are 2 AV-8B Night Attack aircraft from VMAT-203 (the Marine Corps Harrier
training squadron), 2 AV-8B II Plus aircraft from VMA-542 during their 2007/2008 OIF tour
and 3 AV-8B II Plus from VMA-214 during their 2004 OIF tour.

Pre-Order links are now open and the sheet will retail for $17.00

We would like to thank the following Marines and individuals for their help in making this
sheet possible:

LtCol Blot - VMAT-203
LtCol Sisson - VMA-542
LtCol Dunne - VMA-542
Maj Wells - VMAT-203
Maj Hunting - VMAT-203
SSgt Walton - VMA-542 Ordnance SNCOIC provided the references for the OIF ordnance
loads in the instruction sheets
Cpl Reyes - designed the actual markings for VMA-542's CO's jet and was our QA for this
particular aircraft!
Norris Graser  - Photo references for the VMA-214 options

Thank you Gentlemen!

Another sheet in work is a comprehensive set of markings for the F/A-18C's of VMFA-122
Crusaders / Werewolves for their current deployment. Contact has been made with the
squadrons XO, S-5 Officer, and Maintenance Officer and with their help, we will have
everything we need to capture their markings correctly.

We don't rush to be first over here. When you rush, you're bound to make mistakes. Our
priority is accuracy and quality, not beating the competition to the punch.

Look for more information on this sheet in the coming weeks.

We'll have another update next weekend with some news on upcoming sheets for the
EA-6B Prowler. Just in time for the re-release of the Revell-Monogram kit later this year!

First, I would like to take a moment to tell my beautiful wife Tonya that I Love her! Today
is our 14th wedding anniversary! She has been my rock for the last 15 years and I honestly
don't know what I would do without her. She is a wonderful mother to our three kids and
my best friend. Her unwavering support for both my Marine Corps career and this little
business has been nothing short of amazing.

We met in January 1993, I asked her to marry me in February, some friends and family
gave us 6 months.............

I love you Tonya and Happy Anniversary!

OK, on to the business news.

Our last release, FL48005 Ordnance data sheet (which began to ship on 25 July) is now sold
out! FOUR weeks!........not bad, not bad at all. A reprint is in the pipeline, but not for a few
weeks. Most of our vendors still have the sheet, but they are going fast there also.

Speaking of Vendors. We are proud to announce that
Hobby Link Japan will be carrying
both lines of products. Once the final details are worked out, their first order will be
shipped, which should be within the next week or so.

Our next release,

Harriers from the following squadrons:

VMA-542 AV-8B II Plus - 4 aircraft from OIF and OEF
VMA-214 AV-8B II Plus - 2 aircraft from OIF

HMM-163 AV-8B Night Attack during operations in the Horn of Africa
VMAT-203 AV-8B and TAV-8B - CO's jet and a two seater from MCAS Cherry Point, NC

The sheet will include a CD with high resolution walk around photos of all aircraft except
those assigned to HMM-163. Full color instructions, all stencilling data, ordnance load
charts and a list of available kits and aftermarket items.

There is a new release in the Orion Line. Item OMD48-LANTIRN includes stencil data for
two LANTIRN pods and can be used on any kit supplied or aftermarket pod. Decals are
printed by Microscale. Price is $3.00

That's it for now......more updates and some more decal news next week!
